G4S Welfare to Work

G4S has spent the last four years building a presence and reputation within the welfare-to-work industry. We believe that we have the ideas, skills and experience to revolutionise welfare-to-work delivery in the UK, making a significant and lasting difference to the number of people out of work and claiming benefits.

We believe that we are uniquely placed to deliver welfare-to-work programmes as a credible, stable potential Prime Contractor.

Our Approach

G4S has a unique model for the delivery of welfare-to-work services. At the heart of this model is the belief that there is a distinction between job brokerage, additional specialist support and in-work support.

Job brokerage is a necessary condition for finding an individual employment. G4S will subcontract all frontline job brokerage to the very best job brokers, whether these are large national providers, or smaller local organisations. Many people will require additional expert intervention if they are to secure employment. G4S will directly fund a 'knowledge bank' of hundreds of voluntary, public and private sector organisations capable of delivering this additional specialist support. Many people will also require additional support to sustain and progress in work over many years. G4S will subcontract this support to 'In-Work Partners'; organisations who will have experience of working with individuals over long periods of time.

The Work Programme

The Work Programme represents a unique opportunity to transform lives and communities across the UK: an opportunity not only to support millions of people into secure and lasting employment, but to make enormous inroads into eradicating child poverty and kick-starting social mobility. We are working closely with policy makers and employers to ensure that The Work Programme maximises its potential to support as many people into lasting jobs as possible.
