ERSA Response to Freud Report
ERSA has published a response to the report to DWP by David Freud, 'Reducing dependency, increasing opportunity: options for the future of welfare to work'.
ERSA welcomes the broad thrust of the report. We would urge DWP to accept the central premise of Freud: that new investment is required to significantly improve our welfare to work services for the most disadvantged customers; and that this can be provided by the private and voluntary sectors.
ERSA recognises that the Freud proposals represent a significant challenge to current delivery and we believe that further discussions are essential in developing a detailed design specification for change; and to ensure that the potential implications of this are understood by all stakeholders.
